PFLAG BROWNSVILLE had its very first meeting and it appeared to be quite successful. We had over 30 people show up and we had a great cross section of people. We had the L, G, B and T. We even had City Commissioner Melissa Zamora at the meeting which was a real treat. She even said PUBLICLY she would try to get us on the City Commissioners' agenda so that we can be introduced into the community.
The great thing about it is that people were all interested in communicating which is what this organization is all about.
What we did is give people a homework assignment asking people to bring a pad and pen and to think about questions they may have and share them in the next meeting. SO if you want to attend the next meeting bring a pad and pen and if you don't have one, we have one here you can HAVE.
The next meeting is taking place on Monday, February 7 at 6:00pm at the All Souls' UU church. I hope to see you there.
